We provide excellent homecare assistants who are committed to helping clients live as independently as possible within their own home environment.
At Dovetail Care our ethics and professional attitude towards our work is of pivotal importance. It is not just about what we do, it is about how we do it. We assess every client based on their individual needs and requirements, and their right to make choices with regards to their health and welfare
Dovetail Care has been a family run business for 16 years now. I joined the business 8 years ago as Managing Director and I wanted to provide the highest quality care possible. Quite simply, I wanted Dovetail Care to be the best social care provider in the Leeds area. I think we have achieved this, but we can't stand still. The industry is ever changing and with the serious lack of funding in social care at the moment, it's a tough industry to be in. But we are here to make a difference to people's lives at a time when they need help the most, and we will continue to try and achieve this despite the challenges we face.
I have worked in the care industry for over 20 years since I was 16 years old. I have worked in community care, residential care, nursing care and hospital based care. I have worked as a Care Assistant, Team Leader, Assistant Manager and now Manager. I also hold my QCF Level 5 in Health & Social Care Mangement. This experience and knowledge enables me to offer care with a personal touch as I clearly understand the needs of the client and the concerns of the family members.
I recently joined the company to work full-time in the office team. It's nice to work for a family owned business with a focus on our clients and providing the best service to them. I was a qualified nurse and I can put that knowledge and experience to good use at Dovetail Care.
I joined the company 7 years ago as a Care Assistant. I previously worked for another care provider but I was not happy there and had heard of Dovetail Care’s fantastic reputation, so I decided to move to them. I love providing care to our clients and I love seeing the difference I make to their lives. With that in mind, despite now working in the office full time as an administrator, I also work part time providing care and managing our emergency on call service out of office hours.
I have worked for Dovetail Care for over 14 years. I worked as a Care Assistant but moved into the office where I now work full time. I help to plan the weekly rotas for the staff and handle calls from clients and employees. It’s a really busy office and every client has different needs that we always try to accommodate. It’s very rewarding to see the thank-you cards and letters we receive from family members to say we’ve done a great job. It makes it all worth while.
Everyone who works for us has a fantastic attitude to the job they do. They are people focused and they care.
Through client feedback and regular staff evaluations we are always improving levels of care, good is not good enough, we strive for excellent.

We know you will have questions. Here are answers to our most common.
If in doubt call 0113 258 7373 we are here to help.
Yes. Our care is normally charged by the hour. However, there are several methods of acquiring funding for your care from the NHS and local councils. This is means tested and can fully or partially fund your care requirements. We can advise on how to get started with the process.
All of our staff have a full criminal records check via the DBS system. Furthermore, we provide full training to ensure they meet our strict standards of care. We ensure standards are maintained by ongoing regular checks of our staff on the job. These are unannounced visits. There are also other policies to protect clients such as ‘whistle-blowing’ for protection of vulnerable adults. Our staff are all aware of these policies.
We can call out to your home and do an assessment to gather all of your needs. We can discuss with the client and/or the family members how we can meet your requirements, what the options are and what the costs will be. Every client we work with has specific needs of some kind so this is nothing new to us and we are very experienced with personalising your care.
If you would like to call our office on 0113 2587373 we will be happy to briefly discuss things over the phone and arrange a no obligation free consultation to come out and discuss your requirements.
We are constantly recruiting for care assistants on a full and part-time basis. We have day and evening shifts as we provide care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please send a covering email and CV to email@example.com and our recruitment lead will respond within 24 hours.
We have regular communication with family members as and when required to manage the care package alongside family support. So we are often in communication with the family. We also maintain a client care plan at the home of the client and this contains records for every single visit our care assistants perform for our own use and also the families use.
I would just like to thank everyone at Dovetail for all their caring support for my mum who sadly passed away last Friday. Your ladies were all lovely and she was so well looked after and it was such a big help to all the family.
To all your staff at Dovetail Care, please pass on my heart-warmed thanks to everyone who looked after mum. They all did a very good job, especially the important things about her health care. Mum always looked clean and tidy and the staff left the house clean and tidy.
Also, thanks to the helpful staff at the end of the phone, they were always very pleasant and helpful. Thanks once again and keep up the good work.
To all Dovetail Carers,
Thank-you so much to all the carers who looked after my father. The kindness and gentleness you showed him will always be remembered. Your support to myself and my family was much appreciated. We could not have managed without you.
Thank-you so much for everything that you have done for my mum over the last three years. It has meant so much to me to know that she has had your one-to-one attention when I have been unable to be with her.
To all the staff at Dovetail who visited my mother this summer.
Thank-you for the kindness and respect you showed my mother. The dignity with which you treated her and the care and support you showed to us.
To all the wonderful staff at Dovetail,
I have just wanted to thank-you all for the excellent care and support that you have provided for my mum over the last couple of years. Your visits and the little outings you have taken her on have enabled her to stay in her home, surrounded by her own personal items and in her own neighbourhood. This has meant such a lot to her.
